Alan Russakov, M.D.
Dr. Russakov, a board certified physiatrist, is an older doc, and that comes
with a lot of experience. He has practiced in virtually every aspect of rehabilitation
medicine, but his area of interest is the management of pain with minimal
use of narcotics and tranquilizers. He takes a behavioral approach to pain
with a special emphasis on fitness and function.
He is board certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. This is a testing technique
using sophisticated computers and electrical stimulation to analyze the health
of muscles and nerves. When diagnosis is a real challenge, this can be the
test that makes the difference, and he is a master of the science. He also
has special training and experience in wound management.
Currently, Dr. R takes care of patients in the Rehab Center who need help
preparing for return to their lives after a significant illness. He is also
available for consultation for outpatients with pain and disability.
